Green Friends For Rockefeller University

Juliette with a plant

We were very happy to get our first custom assignment with Rockefeller University.

Rockefeller University has the most beautiful newly renovated library.

The centerpiece of the new Welch Hall is a historically accurate refurbishment of the second floor reading room, a grand space with sweeping views of the East River.

The paneling, shelves, furniture, ceiling and elaborate chandeliers have been painstakingly cleaned and repaired, and the original cork floor has been replaced with new cork custom cut to match the original pattern.

Grand Hall

Modern compact shelving on the B level houses one-half of the library’s book collections. This area needed something to make it welcoming, relaxing and comforting for visitors. What can be better than plants to achieve that?

We picked a Lady Palm aka Rhapis Excelsa potted in tall nutmeg color pots as an elegant and inviting element for the entrance.

Snake plants aka Sansevieria trifasciata were chosen as a green divider for the space and were placed on top of the lockers. Red color of planters works well with other colorful elements of the furniture and completes the look of the space.

We hope that readers will enjoy their time and feel more productive now when the plants are here.
