Before you choose a plant(s) and complete your order, please read bellow about what to expect once you receive your plant(s) and about our policies.

Things to know before you buy a plant(s):

  1. Plants are living and perishable, and just like any living things require proper environment and care.
  2. Our job is to choose the healthiest and best looking plant(s) for you. Once a plant is delivered to you it is beyond our control, and we can not be responsible for a plant behavior.
  3. There is no 100% guarantee that your plant will survive and thrive in your space. We recommend to contact us as soon as you see any signs of distress. We are always here to answer any questions and provide recommendations on how to keep your plant happy.
  4. We provide care instruction but these instructions are just a guidelines and watering frequency, care routine will vary depending on temperature, air circulation, light and humidity in a space.
  5. All plants go through acclimation period after being delivered and during major season changes. Some lower leaves might turn yellow or brown, plant might drop some leaves during these periods.
  6. Make sure your plant is not placed near Heat or AC source. It is best to keep consistent room temperature throughout the seasons and not turn off Heat or Ac when away or traveling. The best temperature ratio for almost any plant is 60F-75F.


  1. If your plant(s) or planter(s) arrive damaged, we will replace it free of charge. Notify us within 24 hours via email and we will send a replacement asap.
  2. If your plant dies within first 7 days, we will replace it free of charge.
  3. After 7 days period, we offer 40% off discount of an original price using an existing planter + delivery fee + sales tax (if in New York).
  4. Specific time will be scheduled to pick up planter for a plant replacement.
  5. Request for a replacement form is at the bottom of this page.




If the order is canceled by a customer 3 days before the delivery date, a customer will get a full refund. If the order is canceled by a customer 2 days before the delivery date, a customer will get a refund of 50% of the total amount. All other order cancellations are non refundable.

Order Changes:

My City Plants is unable to cancel or change orders already in process, en route or delivered. Orders are processed immediately, and usually, cannot be changed. If you need to change an order that is not scheduled for 3rd delivery please contact us with your order number and we will do our best to accommodate your request.


Rarely, substitutions of plant or pots are necessary due to temporary weather and stock availability issues. If this is the case with a plant or planter you’ve selected, My City Plants will contact you and ensure that the style and color scheme of your choice is preserved and will only substitute items of equal or higher value.

Light Intensity Description
High Light South or southwest-facing windows. Direct sunlight.
Medium Light East or West facing windows. Partial, filtered or indirect sunlight.
Low Light North-facing windows. No more then 20 feet from the window. Bright fluorescent light at least 8-10 hours a day.

Note: if you can’t read a book as it is too dark in a certain areas than it is too dark for any plant as well.

Window direction is not the only factor to understand your light situation. What is outside the window makes a big difference. Another building, large tree, etc. will block direct light and will effect lighting environment.
